What You’ll Need
- A square piece of paper (6x6 inches works great)
- Scissors (if your paper isn't already square)
- Pens, markers, or crayons for decorating
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start with a Square: If your paper isn't already square, fold one corner to the opposite side to form a triangle. Cut off the excess rectangle to create a perfect square.
- Fold in Half (Both Ways): Fold the square in half diagonally, crease well, and unfold. Then, fold it in half again in the other direction, crease, and unfold. You should now have crease lines forming an 'X' in the center.
- Fold Corners to the Center: Take each corner of the square and fold it towards the center, so the tip of each corner meets perfectly in the middle. Crease well. You should now have a smaller square.
- Flip It Over: Turn the folded square over to the other side.
- Fold Corners to the Center (Again): Repeat the process of folding each corner to the center, creasing well. You should have an even smaller square now.
- Fold in Half: Fold the square in half, crease well, and unfold. Then, fold it in half again in the other direction, crease, and unfold.
- Create the Pockets: Gently slide your fingers under each of the four flaps on the top layer to create pockets. These are where you'll insert your fingers to manipulate the fortune teller.
